Family Search - Among the clearest and easiest genealogy sites to navigate. After entering a name, you can search documents by country, state, and event, such as birth or death, within up to 20 years of the event.

Genealogy Today - This site includes beginner and expert resources, reviews of genealogy search engines, a site of the day, and a question and answer section.

Rootsweb.com - It calims to be the largest of all genealogical sites and is both a resource in itself and an excellent link to other tools and databases. Devoted to keeping genealogy information free and available to all, it provides direct links to individuals who have registered information here about specific families.

Worldgenweb Project - a not-for-profit outfit dedicated to helping people find their familial roots. Its goal is to collect genealogical information from every country in the world. You can search by an alphabetical country list, or simply select a gegion from the map.
